Veil of Flesh

It hung like a wretched cloak stitched together by dying bones and sinews
Silhouette of an image that lay beneath, a shadow cast on the light of my soul
In desperation to live, I grabbed the cloak tighter and tighter as if I shivered
Only to feel its coldness, shadowy sinews, weighed down my flickering lamp

It darkened the glimmer that ought to shine through the windows of my soul
Showing me misty lucid dreams, I groped to feed an insatiable master
Held captive in my own existence, without sight I could not feel a way out
Loneliness, no, never, for in the darkness, I heard the song that came from the gallows

A melodious whisper came in the darkness “Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man?”
“The goodness of God endures continually” and it echoed in my mind’s hallways
Breaking free all thoughts, shattering darkened desires and transgressions
I felt the warmth of His presence, my hands and heart overcome

The trickle of His warm blood, an outpouring of Love, drenched my wretched cloak
Saturated by His mercy, the weight of existence became too heavy to bear
I felt my cloak slipping away, I clutched at the thing I thought I knew best
My desires, I could hold on to no longer, for His blood wouldn’t let

Like the sun rises ending the dark of night, shed my cloak
O my God! Here I am, in the nakedness of Adam and Eve
Do not cover me Lord for my light will shine again in spirit
Having given up the darkness of this world, He reigns…

I haven’t  written poetry in quite some time, so please I am still finding my writing feet so to speak. I hope you enjoy the read and that it will resonate…. Love and Blessings

Serious Lessons Running Taught Me about the Christian Race

Becoming Christians

Joining a fun run gave me a fresh perspective of what it really means to finish our Christian race. Here are the amazing and remarkable lessons I learned from running.

It was a cold Sunday morning when I started running. After a few minutes, a thin layer of sweat started to cover the nape of my neck. My heart was starting to beat faster and my leg muscles got tighter.

It was just a month ago when I decided to run 10 kilometers (6.21 miles) and now, I was actually there trying to stay in the race and finish it the quickest time possible.

Finally, after 1 hour and 14 minutes, I was able to cross the finish line!

The euphoria I felt while running with hundreds of other runners and the self-fulfillment I experienced after finishing my very first 10K race just filled me with elation.

Looking back, there…

Great Signs & Wonders

I am reminded of my young self, sitting late nights with my siblings watching the horror movie Friday the 13th. One of us, if not all, had at one point screamed a warning to one of the actors when Jason was coming. I was just thinking about that today, just before uploading this blog post. We are a bit like little children, our Almighty God has throughout His inspired scriptures, has given us numerous warnings. Yet we are rebellious and choose sometimes not to listen and enter thus into perdition and abominations (read Ezekiel 22). One such ominous warning came from Yahshua Ha-Mashiach (Jesus Christ) in Mark 13:37 “ And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch! This warning came as a response to the question posed by the disciples in verse 4 “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?” And what a response He gave them and us, because the things they were asking about are not of their time but for a generation to come.

Now If anything this should inspire that, we all be attentive and seek out truth for ourselves. 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Remember that the wolves are among us to deceive you and take you off the narrow road to salvation, or even to make you believe that you are walking that road when you actually are not. Matt 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” “….I say to all: Watch!”

Now I don’t know about you, but I firmly believe that we are living in prophetic times. It is worth mentioning that the bible tells us that our life expectancy was reduced to 70 to 80 years (Psalms 90:10), So a generation is equal to 70 – 80 years. The reason I want us to establish this, is because Matt 24: 34 talks about the things the disciples had asked Yahshua (Jesus) to which He replied Watch! “Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” So what are these things that I keep referring to? Deception, lawlessness, false prophets, wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes and extreme weather etc.… I am sure I am painting a very familiar picture here, this, all these things are in our society today, we are the generation that is being talked about here. Just the other day some false prophet was exposed with his fake resurrection from the dead miracle, but we are not connecting the dots here.

Great E Book 7 Powerful Habits of Effective Christians

We are in trouble as humanity, the world has developed a lot to definitely ensure that a lot of us do not watch as we were warned. I don’t need to tell you what is at stake here, we all know we are in a battle for our souls with the devil. Remember he walks about, a ravenous lion so it would be a really good thing not to get swallowed up. He has at his disposal ravenous wolves too, and these don’t look like wolves, No, they fit right in with our fellow religious brothers and sisters in church, some even own the churches too. Now I am not pointing fingers, because the fruit will speak for itself, a bad tree will not produce good fruit.
Since we are in that generation that shall bear witness to these things, “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you before-hand.” Matt 24:24, it makes studying prophesy very important and key to understanding what to come, and not to be deceived by the signs and wonders. Its important to note that the deception is not only for the religious, it is everyone, the deception will come in like a flood and sweep away a lot of people. I cannot say I know what the deception will be, but I can tell you this, it will be a grand spectacle to behold, the devil has had a lot of time to plan this. Yet the body of Yahshua Ha-Mashiach (Jesus Christ) is busy divided about pre- tribulation, mid- tribulation, Israel and the church this and that doctrines of men etc.… and we seem to miss the basic teachings that He personally gave to us as recorded by his disciples. So we need to be very cognizant of the times we are living in, look at everything that happens with spiritually opened eyes, pray, be vigilant and do not be deluded.

I hope reading this will get you to do one thing, to go on your knees and pray to God that He may lead you, looking unto Yahshua (Jesus) the author and finisher of our faith. Psalms 23:3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Only He can do that for you, Yahshua (Jesus) wants that relationship with you, and he has promised to be your Shepherd. Only He can lead us home to the Father but we have to be prepared to make the effort to seek Him with a longing, more than you long for anything else that this world has to offer you. Think about it, are you desperately seeking God, with all your heart, soul and might do you need Him and consider Him even in your subconscious before you speak? Remember to Resist the devil our adversary and he will flee from you…Thank you for taking time to read, and I pray that God is graceful to you in your pilgrimage. Love and Blessings…

Not of this world

Greetings to you reader, and may the grace of God be upon you. I haven’t taken time to post lately, mostly because I had been neglecting my bible reading, but prayerfully I will not enter that space again. Today the subject of the post is rather diverse but the essence of it begs you to ask yourself one question; Am I doing as my creator commanded? Now don’t get me wrong here, we all sin and fall short of His glory. What I hope is that you will take a second look at everything you are and everything you know, so you can get a clear picture our reality, and not the veil that Satan has pulled over the world to hide God. Yesterday I was saying to my wife after having had a thought while meditating on the bible reading, “Heaven isn’t easy, nothing worth eternity is or could be.” We know that God is the same yesterday, today and forever, but our generation seems determined to believe that God has changed His ways, or maybe we just choose to because it makes things easier in this world. I beg to differ and so does the bible.

I want to put this scenario to you; We know from the book of revelations that there is a coming judgement on the Earth and it’s inhabitants, so please consider this pattern of God’s consistency.

In the days of Noah, (which by the way our Lord Yahshua(Jesus) Ha-Mashiach compares to the days of His second coming Matt 24:37) There came a judgement for everyone Gen 6:7 and how many people were spared? Eight souls, Noah and his family, everybody else died!

In the days of Lot, (which again is likened to the days before the Lord’s second coming). Judgement came on the sinful people of Sodom and Gomorrah and how many people were spared? Only four souls, Lot, his wife and daughters. Everybody else in the cities died including Lot’s sons in law, who turned out to be scoffers when Lot warned them about the coming judgement.

In Moses’ time during the exodus of Israel, God passed judgement on his generation. The nation of Israel was in the wilderness for 40 years, and God caused this because they had transgressed His law and worshiped other gods (Deut 1:34-39). Out of Moses’ generation only two souls made it to the promised land that was Caleb and Joshua, the rest including Moses didn’t, they all died in the wilderness, only their children made it. It is also important to note while in Deuteronomy that God tests His people, to see if they will keep His commandments or not (Deut 8:2).
So I think you are getting the picture that I am painting here, we don’t have the statistics for the death toll that will come with the fulfillment of God’s judgements in revelation, but it’s a lot of souls that will die. This time it is very different, this is the end of days we are talking about here. We have an escape through the blood of our Lord Jesus, but that is a gift that requires us to live up to what we confess to be “God fearing”.

There is an adversary out there and we know that he seeks to destroy, and believe me he has plenty of ammunition at his disposal. We have played into his hand and bought into his deception and distraction tactics, he has had since before Adam and Eve, a lot of time to plot and plan. Satan has a plan to make you sin and know this that sin is transgression of God’s commandments, take a look at the times that we are living in, we are busy transgressing without giving it a second thought. We worship money instead of God (Matt 6:24), the family structure breakdown and divorce have wrecked havoc on parental respect and responsibilities, covetousness is all over our tv screens, idolatry and murder, we are definitely lawless. The reason for this stronghold of Satan is deception, I was watching a sermon video last night and the message was this; “If you have faith in God and believe that His Son died for our sins and rose on the third day, confess your sins and then you are saved” Wow! It’s that easy? NO NO NO, Satan also believes these things but he is not getting saved ever but he wants you to believe that you will. There are a lot of people out there preaching the under grace sermons, you can carry on sinning as long as you believe, that is a lot of hogwash, they are not preaching repentance, denying ourselves, taking up our cross (the instrument of the death of our flesh) and following Jesus. I just don’t hear it, to repent means to turn away from…

So if you repent of sin, which is the transgression of God’s law, it means you start to keep the law of our God, he that has ears let him hear the bible says. Today’s church has twisted the writings of Paul and this has proved to be the stumbling block that God has allowed (subject for future blog). 2Peter 3:15-18 tell us that the writings of Paul are hard to understand and untaught and unstable people will twist them to their own destruction. That sounds like a lot of the worship of today, the ravenous wolves of Acts 20:29 have long being inside among us believers, YES in the church. So we ought to be very careful who we listen to, pray and always go back to the word of God, he is not the author of confusion remember that.
What is gravely important in our time is the keeping of God’s commandments, remembering what Jesus taught and observed Matt 28:20 reads “teaching them to observe all the things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”, Amen. And this is coming from He that has been given all authority in heaven and on earth (Matt 28:18). Today I believe that we have twisted scripture and made void what that verse teaches. So my question is who are you going to listen to? Because we know that if you are a friend to the world, you are in enmity with God. We are blessed because it’s not all doom and gloom, we need to learn to pray in the spirit and truly keep seeking God, He is faithful and His promises are eternal. Remember narrow is the road and few find it, and finding that road starts with seeking for God and when He draws near to you, the path will be there for you to walk. Staying on that path is important, because many are called to it but a few are chosen (Matt 7:14, 22:14). God put the nation of Israel on a test to see if they would remain faithful and chose Him every day, they failed and wandered the desert for 40 years and died before seeing the promised land. Adam and Eve had a test to see if they would obey what God commanded concerning the two trees in the Garden of Eden , they failed and introduced sin and death into this world and gave Satan dominion on Earth.

We each have our own tests, and each day I pray we always choose God and not Satan, resist the devil and he will flee from you. That is one profound statement, we have a gift from God that Satan will run away from; His Holy Spirit is given out to us and with it the power to trample over the disgusting things of Satan. We must not remain prisoners of this world, and not look to what is seen, giving the devil power over you that he doesn’t have. I think I have written enough for today, so I will sign off here, but please feel free to comment and or correct me if I have written something erroneously. Love and Blessing of The Most High God Almighty and that of His Son our Lord and Savior Yahshua Ha Mashiach( Jesus Christ).

Lost Innocence

faith & trust.jpg

I often wonder when it was, that moment that I lost my innocence and decided that, “you know what I don’t need God let me do me”. Although I still remember, a long time ago when I was just a little kid, staring up into the wonders of the milky way in the night sky. The one profound thing that still resonates clearly even now is that I knew for sure that a God that can create such a wonder, He would hear me and come to my rescue; no matter how impossible my mountain looked He would help me conquer it. Matt 18:3 our Lord says “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.” This brought me to understand that there is something about the faith, the trust and innocence of little children that we need to try and find again and hold on to for dear life. Remember that God in Jeremiah 1:5 tells us that He knows us even before He forms us physically in the belly of our mothers. Revelation 3:5 and Exodus 32:33 clearly tell us that names are getting blotted out of the book of life, now given that bit of information I can safely give some notice here and say, my plan is to make sure I am in that book when my number is up, by trying to keep the faith and commandments. Paul wrote to the Corinthians 1- 14:20 “Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature” understand?

So then begs the question, when did we all decide to trade in our trust, faith and innocence for greed, selfishness, pride, ungodliness and things of the world? Remember that the reason the devil was thrown out of heaven is because of these things and wanting to exalt himself above God. Isaiah 14:12 How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the furthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.” Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit.  And yet here we are, underestimating the consequences of free will and its empowering nature; these undesirable traits are in direct disobedience to God and will not bear fruits, just like what Satan discovered and now he is hell bent on taking down to the pit as many with him as he can. Here is the irony,  the majority of us have chosen and are choosing to get caught in the devils net of deceit, over picking up our own cross and seeking the narrow, less travelled road to salvation that can only be found through our Savior. I have to tell you tell you; Our Lord made us the offer of a lifetime in Matt 11:28 “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” So given the choices and knowing the winning side, I will have to say I pick God all day long and Saturdays too.

So as we traverse the path from birth to death, we lost that elixir of life, the innocence and the light of God. Like a virus sin abounds and with it, its darkness. And its wages as we all know; are a desolate and solitary death. King David in Psalms 38 could not have described our current state any better than a photograph, “There is no soundness in my flesh because of your anger, nor any health in my bones, because of my sin. For my iniquities have gone over my head; like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me. My wounds are foul and festering because of my foolishness.” We are dying, yet we scorn the offer of life everlasting. It simply doesn’t make any sense, it is the foolishness that King David lamented in Psalms, and at face value we as mankind seems bent on self destruction. We are heavily burdened with sin and attacked constantly by powers of darkness, and yet we choose to ignore the greatest offer of relief anybody could give. I don’t see any better offer out there so it makes the choice a winning ticket.
The wisdom of Proverbs 1:28 “Then they will call on Me, but I will not answer; they will seek Me diligently, but they will not find Me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord, they would have none of My counsel and despised My every rebuke. Therefore they shall eat of the fruit of their own way.” There it is then; we need to seek God while he can still be found, we are told in the book of Hebrews 11:6 that it is impossible without faith to please God, because all that come to Him must believe He is, and He is the rewarder of those that seek him diligently. So it’s time we start putting aside the childish understanding and embracing the knowledge, peace and understanding of our God.

Some fell among thorns

I can’t remember the number of times I picked up the bible, read a little bit and just couldn’t grasp the relevance of these stories. I have since put it down to not having been ready to accept it as truth and opening my mind to understand the lessons and heed the warnings. Our Messiah spoke in parables and to most people those stories are old and simplistic for our advanced world peering into the unknown of AI and gene manipulation. “Some fell among thorns” the title of this post Is taken from Matt 13:7, I suggest reading those chapter verses with a different mindset, the parable is explained in verse 37 “ He who sows the good seed is The Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the Kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sown them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age and the reapers are the angels.”

This world that we live in is the field and we are the seeds, either good or bad. As we understand it, the devil puts his seed (people) amongst the seed that is sown by The Son of Man. The seed of Satan is like the thorns Matt 13: “the thorns sprang up and choked them”, these people are there to purposefully choke and corrupt a good harvest at the end of the age. Verse 40 “Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His Kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” There is going to be a separation of the wicked from the just. This crop of Satan, the lawless ones, these offensive things which are no doubt not human but demonic entities, shall be cast into the fire. So really one question remains, we need to be asking ourselves which side will we be found on that great day.

This field; this world, that we live on has been crafted to keep you away from true faith and worship and propagate narratives replacing God. There are people who our Messiah describes as bad seed, whose mission it is to provide those distractions. No doubt we have all heard this line in action movies “I will create a diversion while you…” The invader will have you look elsewhere while he infiltrates your defenses. So there is always more happening than the diversions our eyes are focusing on, it’s fitting that we are warned about deception and keeping awake. Mark 13:37 “And what I say to you, I say to you all; Watch! Just how many of us are watching, paying mind to spiritual matters and living in love? Or maybe we have been caught up by the thorny bushes, entangled and suffocating our precious hope.

One of the things that I love about the bible is how God gave us a play by play strategy, our opponents’ game plan and the final score at the end. All we need to do is stick to Gods game plan; Another often ignored warning we are given in Revelations 18:4 “ Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues” The her that is meant here is Mystery Babylon the great, the mother of harlots and of the abominations of the earth. The one from which the kings and inhabitants of the earth have gotten drunk with the wine of her fornication. These are the thorns, the seeds of Satan corrupting even the very elect.

2 Cor 6:14 “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” So if you are mingled with thorns, you shall be harvested with thorns and the offensive things of the devil, as always the Messiah has provided a way, Remember Prov 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of The Holy One is understanding.” So we must continue to seek God and ask for discernment in order that we are not deceived. Stay vigilant and pray always Luke 21;36 that you may be counted worthy. Love and Blessings

Is it Love?

The Power of Love

Love is the most abused and misunderstood word, in my opinion that is, and yet we all proclaim to know what love is. We have many outstanding stories of love in our literature the most famous being Romeo and Juliet, but true love does not end in the twisted tragedy such as like in this story. A good contrast is to envisage the love that is described in the following verses 1 Cor 13:4-8 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself; it is not puffed up; does not behave rudely; does not seek its own; is not provoked; thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity; but rejoices in the truth; bears all things; believes all things; hopes all things; endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. While reading these verses I introspected subconsciously only realizing it later on, how does our version of love measure up to this standard as opposed to the Romeo scenario? It’s something I will just leave here to simmer and maybe you can ask yourself that very same question I did. The above chapter ends with v13; and now abide faith, hope, love, these three, but the greatest of these is love. That kind of speaks volumes doesn’t it!
I thought I would open this post with a different verse, but anyhow, it is as it is meant to be. God’s grace! It is only because he loves us that we have that gift, even though we are sinners, we have a chance at redemption. Titus 3:4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior towards man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that been justified by his grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Now that is the love of God, when we struck him he gave us also the other cheek. Adam’s fall was the first of a series of misdemeanors against The Creator for mankind. But if we learn to love, we will solve a host of challenges that we face. 1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. This is what inspires us to know God, to be in His presence and the glory of His love. Let no man fool you when it comes to matters of spirituality, we are tuned to have a loving relationship with our creator, that’s our default setting. Today we have personalized things of God, more than in the days of our Savior, Mark 7:8 “And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the traditions of men, the washing of pitchers and cups, and many such things you do.”
There is a pressing need to be careful, as the Messiah warned us not to be deceived. We seem to have perfected the art of lawlessness; we pass our own laws that are in conflict with the commandment of God. Let the bible be the ultimate authority as it is the word of God, pick up that book and pray to God to give you discernment into His scriptures. We witness the world today and there is sorrow, strife and poverty everywhere you look. The bible clearly explains the days that we are living in Matt 24:12 “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold” It is not then a surprise to those who are not asleep. Search the things of God and He will reveal the truth to you, it may sound corny to some; but our God is a faithful God and He won’t promise what He won’t deliver. In closing Romans 12:9 Let love be without dissimulation (pretense), abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Remembering that God is love, and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
